Cat Chess privacy
Last updated 17 October 2026 (player names added)
What we collect
You can play Cat Chess without an account. If you sign in with Google, we receive and store:
- Your Google account ID (a number that identifies your account)
- Your name and profile picture, as shown on your Google account
We don't receive or store your email address or your Google password.
You also choose a player name and a cat picture. While you play, we store your ratings, wins, draws and losses, the moves of your online games, and your display settings.
What other players see
Other players only ever see your player name, your chosen cat picture and your ratings. Your Google name is never shown to anyone else; only you can see it, in your own account box. Your Google photo is only shown if you tick "Show my Google photo instead".
How we use it
- To keep you signed in, using a cookie that lasts up to 30 days
- To save your ratings and settings, and show your player name on the ladders, in the lobby and to your opponents
- To run online games between players
We don't sell your information, show adverts, or share your information with anyone except the services that host the game (Cloudflare) and Google, which handles sign-in.
Guests
If you play without signing in, your rating and current game are saved only in your own browser.
Deleting your data
To have your account and game history deleted, email duncan49718@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with.
